Overview
Common ABS Resins are good electrical insulating materials. which generate static
electricity easily even during stocking at the warehouse, which may cause problems
such antistatic electric discharge when a conductive subject be touched, explosions
due to dust discharge and air mixtures. Regarding Sugo Antistatic ABS resins, additive
type antistatic resins have been developed in order to solve the problem of the
accumulation of static charges and supply ESD protection for the semi-conductors
that put into the ESD packages made by anti static ABS.
Properties
1) Antistatic Property:
In general, antistatic plastics have a surface resistivity of 10E8-10E11 and a static
discharge half-life of not more than 60 seconds. Sugo antistatic ABS series resins
with a surface resistivity of 10E8 and do not attract dust particles in normal conditions.
2) Mechanical Property:
By adding an antistatic agent to general ABS grade, Sugo antistatic ABS resin’s better
flow characteristics and reduced deterioration of mechanical properties compared with
general ABS can be noticed.
